Intangible Cultural Heritage in Hong Kong

Although the idea of intangible cultural heritage has existed since the beginning of the twentieth century, awareness and efforts to recognize it in Hong Kong only began in earnest in the 1990s. This book covers intangible cultural heritage in Hong Kong, examining the influence of local policies of the past, societal change, and national-level alignment with Beijing’s cultural main melody, transforming recognition of Hong Kong’s heritage into what it is today.
