This book investigates informal practices in Hong Kong that go beyond laws and governance regulations. Among these various informal practices, some are illegal, while others are informal but legal. Focusing on several areas such as street vending, squatting and encroachment, and family and marriage, the authors examine the formation of these informal practices and look into how the Hong Kong government responded to them.
