You can find the HKUP Bookshop on campus and within a beautiful, Grade 2-listed building that was constructed in 1923 as accommodation for the senior staff who worked at the Elliot Pumping Station and Filters. The Pumping Station was used to channel clean water from the Aberdeen Reservoir to the western part of Hong Kong Island. While most of the original facilities were demolished, this two-storey building was restored and ensconced within the design of the new Centennial Campus in 2005. Its architectural features include multi-casement windows, rough-honed granite walls and French windows. It is considered an excellent example of colonial domestic architecture.
Occupying the ground floor of this heritage building, the HKUP Bookshop contains more than 5,000 books published by Hong Kong University Press and our partner presses, across all the disciplines and ranging from scholarly monographs and textbooks to illustrated art books and general interest titles. You are warmly invited to visit and have a browse!
