Hong Kong University Press collects just enough information to perform its contractual obligations with authors, vendors, and clients. This information is typically limited to name and address. Bank information may also be collected if the subject requests payment by direct transfer. Hong Kong University Press may transfer this information to its financial partners in order to make payments required by contract. Otherwise, personal data is not shared with any third party. Digital data is stored on secure servers and analog data is stored in a secure office setting. Data may be transmitted by email or on paper as required to process payments. Requests for more information about data the Press holds on any individual data subject may be directed to upweb@hku.hk. On request, data may be purged from the Press’ records; however, this may jeopardize the Press’ ability to make payments to the affected parties.
