Feelings of the Brush 畫字我心

This book is the catalogue accompanying the exhibition Feelings of the Brush: Paintings by Kan Tai-keung. It illustrates the artist’s artistic achievements to date, and contains critical essays by noted scholars. The internationally renowned designer and painter Kan Tai-keung has started his career as a designer since 1967 and established his own design company in 1976. Currently he is Creative Director of the Kan & Lau Design Consultants, Council Member of the Hong Kong Arts Development, and Dean of the Cheung Kong Institute of Arts and Design at the Shantou University. The present exhibition includes Kan’s later works with the portrayal of mountains, rivers, trees, rocks, and clouds, focusing on the artistic pursuit on the concept of painting in relation to Chinese calligraphic compositions.

本書是由多位知名學者撰文，配合《畫字我心：靳埭強繪畫》展覽，涵蓋靳氏歷年藝術作品的大型圖錄。國際著名設計師和畫家靳埭強於一九六七年開始從事設計工作，一九七六年創辦設計公司。現任靳與劉設計顧問公司創作總監、香港藝術發展局委員、以及汕頭大學長江藝術與設計學院院長。這次展覽主要展出靳氏近期的作品，多取材自中國山水，結合文字的實用性和藝術性，並參考了行草書法的結體。
